Day 280 - Kind of Like a Candy Cane

Here's a riddle for you: What do you get when you cross your card with a candy cane?

Answer: TODAY'S CHALLENGE!

The specifics: Put red and white stripes somewhere on your card.

Here is Vicky's answer to the riddle:

Are you loving that little elf from KLM Designs as much as I am? And that red and white striped paper is a perfect background, Vicky!

Have you enjoyed this sponsored week? I believe I speak on behalf of the entire DT when I say we truly enjoyed working with these images!!

I'll be back tomorrow with the sketch and an announcement...

Day 279 - A Little Wordy

The challenge is this:

Cover the background of your card with words, and there are a lot of ways to do this. You can stamp it, type it/print it, pull some text out of a book or magazine, etc.

Sophie's "wordy" background comes from a lovely digi stamp all about "mom". Check it out:

That is absolutely beautiful, Sophie!

Remember that if you are going for that super fab prize from KLM Designs, you have until Sunday night to get those links up.

Day 278 - You Can't Miss It

So let's get right down to today's challenge...

Take an image, and don't add color to the image, except for one element, which should be glittered. The rest of the image should be a solid color (any color is fine). The idea is that the glittered portion of the image really pops!

Let's see what Amy chose for hers:

That yummy looking cupcake is a KLM Digi Designs image, and Amy you sure made that cherry pop off the card!

We still have 2 more days of KLM Digi Designs Week, so get those cards linked up and join in the fun!!

Day 277 - Just a Fraction

Here's a little bit about this week's sponsor:

KLM Digi Stamps (KLM Designs) was started by a mother and daughter team. Kathryn (owner of of KLM Digi Stamps) and Sue (Company's artist) started designing digi stamps for their own creations. After much response and excitement to their stamps, they formed KLM Digi Stamps.
KLM carries a large selection of designs from clowns, which are the company's signature designs, to digi sentiments. All images are delivered in a ZIP format. Each file contains JPEG and PNG format files. Images can be resized, reversed and altered to your liking.

One lucky winner will get to choose up to THREE digital images!
And speaking of those digi images, let's talk about today's challenge and the image that Kristie used on her card...
When you are stamping, you may find that you generally use the entire image, but there are times when you want to use a part of that image. Well that's where today's challenge comes in. Select an image, and use only a part of that image. If you've never tried this before, then now is a great time to go for it!
Here's Kristie's card:

Kristie, your coloring of that image is amazing!!

If you want to see the whole image, you can check it out here, and for more details about Kristie's card stop by her blog.

Day 276 - You're an Angel

Thank you again for your patience on this...

Here's your Top Trio:

1) Tammy - For her very creative use of braiding cord.
2) Jessica T. - For some adorable thumbprint people.
3) Janice - For such a clever take on the sketch.

And the Weekly Challenge All-Stars:

libeeti, Rose M., Linda B., Robyn, and Janice W.

Today, I get the pleasure of sharing a card using this KLM image:

I have been wanting to create an angle-themed challenge for a while, and when I got the opportunity to use this beautiful angel and dove image, it seemed the perfect time.

Here are the specifics of the challenge: Use an angel and/or the word angel on your card.

Tomorrow I will share details about KLM Digital Designs and some info about the prize coming up at the end of the week!

Day 275 - 'Tis The Season

First of all, I want to apologize, because I would normally post the Top Trio and the Weekly Challenge All-Stars, but I spent the entire weekend selling cards at a local bazaar, and I'm afraid I didn't finish looking at all your wonderful cards. I will finish today and post that info tomorrow, and I thank you for your patience :)

Now I will get to today's challenge. Whether or not you celebrate Christmas, you're probably seeing RED and GREEN all over the place. I know I am, so of course that color combo popped in my head. So that's the challenge: Put lots of green and red on your card.

Not only did Gloria include those colors on her card, but she used a super sweet snow person image from KLM Designs:

I love that it looks like it's snowing in the background, Gloria!!
Now, your card does not have to be a Christmas card - any theme will do, as long as red and green are the dominant colors.
