And now for today's challenge: Use an ad as the inspiration for your card design. Today's designer Kristie chose the ad and then created a card from it.

Kristie's Card
I don't know about you, but I am inspired by both the ad and the card! I asked Kristie to tell me how the ad inspired her, and here is what she said:
I instantly love the boldness of this image. I am a big black and white fan, but also the addition of orange, pink and yellow really adds spunk. They are great colors you wouldn't originally think would go together, but they create a dramatic combination. I also really love how the table and wall graphic are offset from each other, it takes a simple room (or in our case, card) and adds more interest. I used this as the basic inspiration of my card by sliding things over to one side. Over all, this is definitely a party I would LOVE to go to! I think using ads for inspiration is such a great way to try new colors and learn that what "looks good" may be different than what you would expect. I hope this inspires you as much as it did me.

Kristie, this is FAB! I love what you did with the card. And I am sure I NEED some of that b/w paper you used! LOL
I wanted to make a little post here and let you guys know what I'm doing for my mom. She loved the card box that I made and asked me to maker her one. So, I'm going to make her a box and include several of the cards that we are making here at 365. I'll give it all to her for Mother's Day. I just thought I would share in case any of you might think of doing the same thing. I thought that thru the challenges here I could make different type cards....birthday, graduation, thank you, etc and put them in her new box. I think she will love it and she will love to give handmade cards to her friends and family.

I've just linked to mine - I used the colors, placement and the tray of cupcakes from the ad as inspiration. It's a quick one again, since I need to get it in the mail asap.

After having done this and looked at some of the other cards that were done, I think there is some confusion as to whether we were to use your ad or our own ad for this challenge.
Does it matter which way it was done?
I am so sorry I was one of the culprits who used their own ad :( (as she hangs her head in shame). I was not clear about this one and I will pay better attention next time.
I still had fun and really am enjoying this new blog. Keep up the good work ladies.

I put mine on Mr Linky. I love the ad and the card you did Kristie. I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to do one from this or my own, but opted in the end to do one based on the ad given here. Hope that's OK.
