Day 61 - Circles 3 Ways

Have you ever noticed all the round things that we can put on cards? Not to mention that we can make our cards round. So here's the challenge:
Add at least 3 different types of circular items to your card - and a round card counts as one of those items. Using 3 of only one type of item does not count. So let's see what Sophie used:

3 buttons, 1 brad, 1 circular card, and even some polka dots all over that ribbon - and such a cute card, too! I'd say that counts for sure :)

Just one more day of Digital Delights Week left...

Day 60 - All That Glitters

Is it Thursday already?? Wow! Well, it sure has been a fun week, and it's not over yet.
Today's challenge might sound easy compared to the last couple of days :) To meet the challenge, you need to include at least 3 different colors of glitter on your card.
Vicky did this by giving this little turtle some different colors on its shell:

Such a beautiful color scheme - and I think I see some glittery blue water, too!

Have you had a chance to check out all the images that Digital Delights has to offer? If not, pop over to the shop and check it out!!

Day 59 - Moving Parts

So I posed this challenge to Kim, and just asked her to give it a try - well then she created this card:

Notice in the photos how the legs of the crab are hanging one way:

And then the other way:

And finally, straight up and down:

Have you figured out the challenge from the title and the photos? Create moving parts of an image on your card. I think the best way to do this is to use brads, but you can do it any way that works for you.

I tell ya - I knew Kim could pull off this challenge, but she really blew me away with this amazing creation!! And she used that charming little crab from Digital Delights, too!!

So see if you can create some moving parts on your card....

Day 58 - Crazy 8's

That means we're looking for things in quantities of 8 - using at least 3 different items on your card, how about that?

How crazy did Audrey get? Check it out:

Well, she's got 8 legs on that adorable Octopus image from Digital Delights, plus 8 gems and 8 leaves. She's got it all on there - and it sure looks good, too!
Let's see how crazy you can get....

Day 57 - Ad Inspired

You know you love 'em! It's an ad inspired challenge, brought to you today by Gloria. But first, I'd like to announce our Top Trio:

1) Yogi - For this simply fabulous sketch card.
2) Marielle - For this soft and beautiful "pins and needles" card.
3) Barb H. - For "digging deep" and creating not one, but two beautiful cards with some items buried in her stash.

And an extra special shout out to 4 year-old Annabella, whose mom Yvonne shared her card with us. Check out this absolutely adorable card and leave her some love please (if you haven't already)!

From Sunday to Saturday, these cardmakers completed each and every challenge to make up a fine group of Weekly Challenge All-Stars:

Heather B., Manoli, Gail, Geri, Jolley Scrapper, Kajikit, Shelly H., Linda B. and Studio Sara

For today's challenge, Gloria selected this advertisement to inspire your cards:

And here is her card using this adorable turtle image from Digital Delights:

I love how you used different colors and patterns for the turtle's shell, Gloria!

Day 55 - On Pins and Needles

A silly title for a simple task - your project must incorporate pins as a decoration and needles for the purpose of stitching somewhere on your card. Otherwise, anything goes.

Here is Heidi's gorgeous project:

Very clever use of those pins, too!

So I don't think I've mentioned that tomorrow begins a sponsored week, have I? Well it does, and I can't wait to get started!!

Day 54 - Fancy Folds

I love what a little fancy folding can do! Have you seen the oh-so-cool Joy Fold card? Well here are the basics of what you'll need and how you'll create this card:

Here’s what you’ll need:

- 4.25” x 8.5” piece of cardstock – this will be your card base.
- 3”x 8” piece of cardstock – this does not have to be a perfect measurement and you can make it smaller to suit your preferences if you wish.

- Score the larger piece of cardstock at 5.5” on the 8.5” side.
- Score the smaller piece of cardstock at 4” on the 8” side.

The basic idea is that the flap of the smaller card will overlap with the flap of the larger card.
This is a very simple tutorial. You can decorate your card with patterned paper before adhering the smaller piece of cardstock to the larger piece, as you can see in Sophie’s example below:

This is such a beautiful card, and the photos are wonderful for demonstrating the steps. I grabbed the tutorial steps from this site, however, I was able to Google "Joy Fold Card" and found several examples. I left out additional steps that include decorating the card with patterned paper, since you can decorate it any way you want.

It's a simple folding design that can make a big impression on the recipient!

Day 53 - Front, Back, and Everything in Between

If you're thinking that I'm going to ask you to decorate the entire card inside and out.... would be right!

That's the whole challenge. Let's take a look at Vicky's card:

In Between

Beautifully done, Vicky! I just love the signature on the back :)

As you can see, the challenge doesn't require that you fill each side, but there must be some sort of decoration on every side of the card.

Day 52 - Save the Date

Mostly you see them for weddings, but you can ask someone to "save the date" for any occasion. So....that's your challenge - create a "save the date" card.

Here is Kim's super cute creation:

I love this one - it is so clever!

This can be a single piece of cardstock without a fold, or you can have a folded card - whatever works best for your theme.

Did I miss anyone? Let me know!

We had such great participation last week during the blog hop!! Lots of new cardmakers popped in and joined us. White space challenges can be tough, but there is tons of inspiration in the gallery with all the gorgeous creations. I will go through the list and figure out all the entries and I will share some winner's from 365 Cards on tomorrow's post. There will be TWO winners, so check back and find out of you're one of them...

So today's challenge is all about Digging Deep....Right down to the bottom of that stash...

I want you to find three things -

1) An item that is more than a year old
2) Something that you were given that you have never used - this could be from a swap or a gift, but it has to have come from someone else.
3) Something you forgot you had.
Here is Gloria's card:
Let's find out what she used:
1) Older than a year - the Cosmo Cricket and 7Gypsies papers are WAY more than a year old. The dictionary pages are about 30 years old!
2) Gift - the Melody Ross glass brads were a bday gift from my friend Jamie. The lace came to me in a kit, I that's kind of like a gift...a surprise anyway.

3) Forgot I had - the Cosmo 8x8 paper and the Mother's Day foam stamp.
Well that is one gorgeous card, Gloria, and it meets the requirements, too!!!
See you back here tomorrow for some prize winners...

Day 44 - White Space

Yep - More white space to keep you busy, lol! Here is today's white space sketch:

And Audrey's take:

Bright, beautiful, and delicious-looking, too!!
As with yesterday's challenge, limit the decoration to the blacked out area on the sketch.
I see that a lot of new people have joined us during the blog hop, and we are so glad to have you playing along!!
More white space fun tomorrow...

Day 43 - White Space

As you probably read above, this is the last stop on the hop! If you are new to 365 Cards, let me just tell you a bit about this blog:

We issue a new card challenge every day of the year!! One of my favorite challenges to post is the White Space challenge. I provide a sketch that indicates the "white" area that needs to be left free of decoration. Of course, there are ways around this, but the general idea is to keep your card simple. Every day this week, I will share a different white space sketch to challenge you. First up this week is Gloria, who got to use this sketch:

Now, if you don't already know, Gloria is a rebel and she likes to shake things up a bit. Here is her take on the challenge:

Well Gloria, even though you filled the white space with this rabbit, it is still beautifully simple and I love it!

So how can you win a prize this week at 365 Cards? You can comment on any of the posts this week by sharing with us what you think about White Space challenges. A winner will be drawn at random at the end of the week.

I will also offer another prize just for participating this week. You will earn 1 chance for every white space challenge you enter this week. At the end of the week, a winner will be drawn at random.

Now I will finally get around to the Top Trio for last week's challenges. Each week, the DT and I select three cards that really stood out for their beauty, creativity, or maybe a clever idea. Here are 3 of our favorite cards from last week:

1) Barb Housner - For this pretty in pink beauty.
2) Manoli Navarro - For this big beautiful glittery blossom.
3) Margie - For creating this fabulous Friday Five card.

Over on the sidebar we have a special blinkie for Card of the Week, and you three are welcome to grab it and add it to your blogs!

Each week we also acknowledge the amazing and talented cardmakers who are able to complete every challenge for the week (Sunday-Saturday) by the end of the week. With all our busy lives that is no easy task, but this group of individuals managed it:

Gail, Linda B., Debbi F., Heather B., Margie, Melissa B., Jammie, Studio Sara, Kim O'Rear, and Lee Ann

If I missed your name and it should be up here, please let me know! And well done to all of you who complete all 7 challenges from last week!!

Thanks for joining us at 365 Cards this week, and come back every day for another white space challenge...
