Day 122 - Shades of Blue

Hmmmm - are you seeing a pattern here? Let's see at least 3 shades of blue please!
Kim did a fabulous job incorporating her blue shades as water to tie in beautifully with the hula dancers image from Digi Kitty:

Ahhh - this makes me think of the sand and surf...
Have you had an opportunity to check out all that Digi Kitty has to offer? Well, while you're thinking about the card you're going to make for this challenge, pop on over and out the shop!
I guess you know what tomorrow's challenge will bring, but you'll have to wait until then to find out the color...

Day 121 - Shades of Red

I just love the color red, and I love Audrey's shades of this color:

So you know what to do - just make a card with any three shades of red (or more!) and you've met the requirements for the challenge.

Just a reminder that next week, we will have a Celebration Week, and we've got a group of Guest Designers who have been busy creating cards to share next week. They are all 365 Cards participants and they are excited to share their creations with you!

Day 118 - Ransom Note

Don't worry - you don't actually have to create a ransom note! But I do challenge you to find your sentiment using letters cut out of newspapers, magazines, etc.

Here's Heidi's card for the challenge:

Awww, sweet card - and I see those letters in 'lift' - well done, Heidi!

The challenge is kind of silly, and a little bit fun - so give it a try!
Even though Lia Stampz Week is officially at an end, you still have until tomorrow night to complete your challenges for this week...

Day 117 - Favorite 5

Now this one will probably easy, because they are all about your favorite things....

Answer these questions by using these 5 things:

1) Favorite color

2) Favorite embellishment

3) Favorite sentiment

4) Favorite card shape and or/size

5) Favorite tool

You can use more on your card than those things that apply to the above list, as long as those items are on your card, too.
Here is Sophie's card (with our favorite little fairy, lol!!)

Here's Sophie's favorite 5:

My favorite color : kraft
My favorite embellishment : brad
My favorite sentiment : one welcoming a baby
My favorite card shape : square
My favorite tool : embossing folder

So what's your Favorite 5?

Day 116 - Cut 3 Ways

The challenge is called Cut 3 Ways, and here are the details:

Use 3 different methods for cutting or trimming elements of your card. You can use special cutting tools, a handheld blade, tearing of paper - Any 3 ways that you can think of.
Here is Vicky's card:

Ok, it's official - this little fairy has won our hearts! And this card is super sweet. Here are the 3 cutting methods Vicky used:

1) Regular straight cutting
2) Die cut (scallop border)
3) Tearing
What 3 ways will you cut paper on your card?
I'll be back tomorrow with a post from my hometown in Minnesota...

Day 115 - Imagine This: Bedtime

Every now and then, I like to throw in an "Imagine This" challenge, where you are inspired by something you typically find (or in this case experience) in your daily life.
This challenge is all about "Bedtime".
All you have to do is think about bedtime, and design a card to fit the theme.
Here is Kim's card:

Inside:

How cute (and clever) is that? Very! I'm totally going to scraplift this, Kim - nicely done!!

Can you tell that we just love this little fairy that keeps popping up this week? So adorable.

Day 111 - Stunning Silhouette...With a Twist

This was one of my favorite challenges - so many great cards were shared by everyone who participated in it.
The challenge was to create a silhouette on your card...but, you know there has to be a twist:

Make your card in black and white
Here's Heidi's card with the twist and an SRM Sticker:

Simply Stunning, Heidi!!
What a fun, fun week we've had. I must say one more time just how fabulous these stickers are - and one lucky participant is going to win some!
Back tomorrow with a Sunday Sketch and another sponsor...

Day 110 - 'Love' is in the Air...With a Twist

Sophie chose a challenge from last June that requires a wedding theme.

The original challenge was to create a wedding card with the word 'love' on it. Sounds pretty easy, so let's give it a twist:
Keep it "non-traditional" - very little white, no cake, dress, or ring, or the typical symbols that are found on a wedding card.

Sophie, I just "love" this card (and the sticker, too!) - with it's gorgeous background pattern and the color combo, who wouldn't enjoy receiving this?
One more day of SRM Stickers fun to go, but you still have 2 more days to go to link up those cards!!

Thursday, June 17, 2010

Day 109 - Stripes and Bold Colors...With a Twist

First thing I want to do on this post is wish my beautiful mom a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I am so pleased to be able to give her a big hug and help her celebrate with our family today!
The first part of the challenge is fairly self-explanatory, I think...but of course, there is the twist...
You'll need to have Stripes and Bold Colors, but the twist is that you can only have 4 colors!

Once again the sentiment is made up of SRM Stickers, and they tie in beautifully with this card. Wouldn't you LOVE to win some of those fabulous stickers as a prize? Well, there's a chance, and all you have to do is join in this week for up to 7 chances to win that prize :)
Two more "twisted" challenges coming up...

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

Day 108 - Sing-Along...With a Twist

The challenge was originally titled "Sing-Along Saturday" and you were to draw inspiration from the song Rainbow Connection.
Here are the lyrics:

Why are there so many songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
And rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

Who said that every wish would be heard and answered
when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that
and someone believed it,
and look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing?
And what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
the lovers, the dreamers and me.

All of us under its spell,
we know that it's probably magic....

Have you been half asleep
and have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name.
Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same.
I've heard it too many times to ignore it.
It's something that I'm supposed to be.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
the lovers, the dreamers and me.
La, la la, La, la la la, La Laa, la la, La, La la laaaaaaa

Ready for the Twist?
Do NOT put a rainbow on your card
And it CAN be done, check out Kim's card:

There have been several versions of this song, but Kermit the Frog is the singer that sticks in my mind the most. So it's definitely fitting that Kim included a frog on her card.
And check out all the SRM Stickers all over the background of the card - great idea, Kim!!
So take a look at those lyrics and show us how this song inspires you - without rainbows....

Day 107 - That Special Guy...With a Twist

Audrey chose a challenge that I had originally created in honor of Father's Day, which is coming up at the end of the week. So it definitely works now. The original challenge was to use an argyle pattern and create a card for a special man in your life. It can be your father, husband, brother, friend - any special guy, and it doesn't have to be a Father's Day card specifically.
But, I did promise a twist didn't I?
So here it is - make the argyle pattern a piece of "fabric" on your card. I was thinking maybe a piece of clothing on a stamped image or something, but Audrey was quite clever with her example:

And a look at the inside:

The sentiment, inside and out, is made up of SRM stickers - I tell ya, I just love 'em!

Have fun with this challenge, and I'll bring you another one with a twist tomorrow...

Day 106 - Fun with Fabric...With a Twist

Are you lovin' those SRM stickers as much as we are?? For some of the latest and greatest info on these fabulous stickers, pop over to their Blog!
Before I share details about today's challenge, I must announce our winner from The Cutting Cafe Week....

Congratulations to: Hannah S!!!!!

You may email me here, and we'll make the arrangements for you to receive 3 sets of your choice (is that a great prize, or what?)!!

Here is the Top Trio from last week:

1) Creative - For this sensational sketch card.
2) Jan - For such a 'charm'-ing and a joyful card, too.
3) M. Engracia - For this beautifully 'repetitive card' that just makes ya smile.

We also LOVED this project by Pam Korman, for which she drew some inspiration from last week's sketch, so check it out!!

And the Weekly Challenge All-Stars:

Shelly H., Nicole, Hannah S., Heather B. and Studio Sara

The rest of this week, we're bringing challenges that I call "With a Twist". I had the DT select challenges that were posted in June 2009, and then I added a twist. They're first reaction was "uh-oh, what crazy ideas will Pam come up with??". Well, nothing too scary, I don't think.

Gloria chose a challenge originally titled "Fun with Fabric" -- so I added this:

Stamp an image on patterned fabric and incorporate it into your card.

Check out Gloria's gorgeous gingham (say that 3 times fast!) apron:

So that's the challenge - pull out that patterned fabric, and get stamping!!

Day 104 - Life's a Party

And so is your card! Well, sort of...
The challenge is to use the word 'party' somewhere on your card.
Let's see if Heidi's card meets the challenge:

Yep - this qualifies - and it is super fabulous, too!

Thanks so much to Regina from The Cutting Cafe for bringing us such wonderful designs to work with, and for sponsoring us all week long!!

For a shot at some digi images from The Cutting Cafe, link up those cards by 11:59 PM EST tomorrow night...

Day 103 - Peek a boo

The challenge for today is to cut out part of an image so that the color and/or pattern on the inside acts as part of the image. It's a cool effect when you see the finished product, so let's give it a try.
Sophie used a cake image from the Birthday Fun set, and this is what she came up with:

Here you can see a bit of the inside:

And a photo of just the inside:

This is a beautiful card and I love the colors and patterns! It's definitely a challenge (I know because I've tried it myself), but it's worth the end result.

Wow, I can't believe this week is coming to an end tomorrow -- it just flew by!
But you still have a couple more days to link up those cards for a chance to win an amazing prize from The Cutting Cafe!!!

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Day 102 - Repetition is the Key

...okay, so maybe that only matters when you are trying to memorize something. However, it can also be used on your card to really get that message across ;)

So let's do this: Use a word and an image at least 3 times on your card.
Here's what Vicky did with the Birthday Fun set from The Cutting Cafe:

This definitely meets the criteria, lol! Well done, Vicky :0)
Are you having as much fun as we are this week? Be sure to visit The Cutting Cafe to see all the wonderful goodies that Regina has to offer...

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Day 101 - Inchie x 10

We've already had a challenge to make an inchie - but that was a single inchie. Now I challenge you to put TEN inchies on your card!

Kim nailed this one, check it out:

So many adorable critters from the Cute Critters set all on one card - love it!

So let's see LOTS of inchies on your card. Do you have enough room on your card for more than 10? Put as many as you want on your card, as long as you've got at least 10...

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

Day 100 - All Lined Up

Today's challenge is to get things lined up in rows. In fact, everything from the embellishments to the sentiment should be lined up, and you'll need to have at least THREE items in each line that you create.
Here is what Audrey came up with using the Birthday Fun set from The Cutting Cafe:

Gorgeous coloring on those party hats, Audrey!!

It's early in the week, and we've got some great challenges coming up...

Monday, June 7, 2010

Day 99 - So Charm-ing

Here's our winner from KLM Digital Designs Week...

Congrats to Erin T.!!!!
Please email me here, and we can make the arrangements for you to receive your prize!
This week there were lots of amazing cards in the gallery, but there was such a wonderful set of sketch cards, that all three spots came from Day 91:

1) Lauren - With these gorgeous love birds.
2) Nicole - With a pair of beautiful butterflies.
3) Jennifer - With a very artistic card.

Congrats and thanks for the inspiration!!

Thanks to Tracey W. for sharing this card - a collaboration with her daughters, Caitlyn and Alexis. Such a great idea and it turned out to be a "supersized" beauty!

As always, we must acknowledged those cool card makers who completed every challenge last week, from Sunday to Saturday:

Heather B., Studio Sara, Shelly H. and Gail
Nice work!!
Today's challenge is not just to use a charm on your card, but to create one out of paper.
Using the Cute Critters set from The Cutting Cafe, Gloria created 3 charms on her card:

Here's a close-up of those "charm"ing buggies :)

And a peek at the inside of the card:

Love the bright color scheme and the way you hung those charms on your card, Gloria!
Have fun playing with this challenge, and I'll see you back here tomorrow for more Cutting Cafe fun...
