Day 183 - Digging Deep
3) Wendy P - For some creatively colored crabs.
So today's challenge is called Digging Deep because it requires you to dig down in that stash to find the following things and include them on your card:
An item (not paper) that is at least 6 months old
2 sheets of patterned paper that you've never used
An embellishment that you've had for more than a year
A stamp that you've never used but you've had for at least a year
First I will share Gloria's incredibly stunning card:
You can visit her blog for all the details...
You might recall that a few weeks ago we invited some Top Trio winners to be guest designers for us. Well today we have Kristina Harmon and her take on the challenge. Here is her gorgeous card:
And here's a bit about this card designer:
Hi there, my name is Kristina and I am so happy to be a guest designer here at 365 Cards! I am a wife, mom, and nanny. I love doing paper crafts and have been scrapbooking on and off for years, although I took a MAJOR break from 1999 - 2009. I started a blog to share my passion and interact with like minded people. My days are filled with drool, bottles, diapers, cooking, cleaning, fur and of course crafting and blogging. You can learn more about me, my family and my passions on my blog, http://kmhworld.blogspot.com/ .
We're so happy that you could join us on this challenge, Kristina, and thanks for sharing this wonderful card!
Okay 365ers, we'd love to see what you get from 'digging deep' in your stash - and if you have any trouble meeting the above requirements, then just come as close as you can...

Day 182 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Did you take one look at this sketch and think 'snowman'? I know I did, and so did the DT, lol! Here are the Design Team examples for this week:
Sophia
Tesa
Hmmmm - if we don't have a sponsor, then will there be a prize this week? Why yes, there is a prize! I technically had my personal blogoversary a couple of weeks ago, but I'm celebrating this week and I hope you'll join me by participating in some challenges here at 365 Cards. I have a great RAK that I set aside for just this occasion, and I will post pictures and share details on tomorrow's post.

Day 180 - Keep it Simple
On a Keep it Simple challenge, we like to limit you to just a few items to put on your card and that's it.
The items for this challenge are:

Day 179 - White Space
This is stunning with its Clean and Simple style! I love the way the sentiment from KLM Designs curves around the snowflake.
This has been a week of fun challenges and great digi designs, and the week's not over yet...

Day 178 - Imagine This: Sugar
Sugar is sweet, and so is this card. Kim even used Basic Grey "Sugar Rush" paper - that's excellent! And let's talk about that adorable clown image from KLM Designs - super sweet without the cavities.
I think you can take this in so many different directions, and I can't wait to see what y'all come up with!

Day 177 - Color 4 Ways
Other ways I added color are: staining (around the edges), sponging on ink, coloring with markers, computer toner, and watercolor paints. It's hard to see the painting, but I used a baby blue color over the sentiment that I printed out on watercolor paper. Then I used a circle punch to pop them out of the paper.
A challenge like this can really make you conscious of how you decorate your card with color. It was fun to step out of my comfort zone and get creative.
I hope you'll give this challenge a try and share other ways you can add color to your cards!

Day 176 - Pierce and Piece
And a close-up of the piercing around the sentiment:
Can you see the image from KLM Designs? Well, it's actually the entire background! Yep, the quilt block design is the image, and Gloria chose some gorgeous patterned paper to piece for it.
Use a little or a lot, just be sure to pierce and piece on this one...

Day 174 - Sing Along Saturday
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
I hope you dance
(Where those years have gone)
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)
Get those cards linked up by tomorrow night at 11:59 PM EST to earn up to 7 chances to win that prize from Robyn's Fetish Digital Designs!

Day 169 - A Certain Sentiment

And this is rest of the sentiment:
Gloria's sentiment is computer-generated, and I'm really liking that font! And there's that charming birdie image from Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps looking so cute!!
So now I'm going to share news about a very cool giveaway that 365 Cards is joining in. Rachelle Christensen is hosting a giveaway for a brand spankin' new WorkBox from The Original Scrapbox on her blog. There are lots of details on how to enter (and you can earn many entries various ways), but one way is right here at 365 Cards.
First, head over to The Original Scrapbox site , check out the products, then come back here and leave a comment telling me what your favorite item is. I will pick one person at random (using Random.org) to win a Giant Cutting Board (retail value $39.95) and that person will also earn an entry into the contest to win the WorkBox. There are several blogs participating, and you can find out how to earn additional entries by visiting those blogs. For complete details and a list of those blogs, you can visit the giveaway page I created, or just click on the corresponding link at the top of this page.
***We would love to have you participate in any of our challenges at 365 Cards, but it is not a requirement to win the Giant Cutting Board prize. Participation in our challenges earns you entries to win the prize from our weekly sponsor, Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps, which is a separate contest.***

Day 166 - Ad Inspired
And here's my card:
I wanted to use an image from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and I thought the Gladiola image had a similar look to the tulips in the photo.
If you're missing Sophie, don't worry, she'll be back next week!
Now let's see how this ad inspires your card...

Day 164 - Funny Formula
Flower+pink+stamp (rubber/clear or digi) + glitter = One item on your card.
This is stunningly gorgeous! Take a look at the image - the flower is a stamp, pink, and it is glittery - everything is there!
