Day 337 - Ad Inspired

It's time again for another Ad Inspired challenge...

Gloria always picks such beautiful ads, and this one is no exception.

And as much as I love that ad, I think it's Gloria's card that inspires me even more, check it out:

See what I mean?  WOW!!

I know my little ballerinas would love this card, too.

Okay 365ers, let's see what you do with this ad...

Day 336 - Super Sketchy Sunday

This is going to be a fun week, so let's get started with a sketch and then I'll tell you all about our sponsor!

Okay, I know this is a busy sketch, but I think it's going to inspire some very creative cards!  Just take a peek at what the DT did with the sketch:

Rose

Wendi

Sophia

Tesa

Manoli

Wow, wow, wow!!  See what I mean about the sketch inspiring creativity?  Such a gorgeous set of cards, Ladies.

So if you haven't yet guessed, our sponsor this week is one of my all time faves, SRM Stickers
We were all gifted with a wonderful array of stickers, and I simply cannot get enough of these things.  If you're at CHA right now, then you've know doubt seen their booth loaded with goodies.  Be sure to take a peek at the SRM blog for all the details on the latest products they have to offer.  And of course,

I'm telling ya, you're going to want to be the lucky winner this week, so stick around...

Day 335 - Four Flaps

Hmmmm....that's an interesting title, huh?  Well, it's pretty straightforward actually.  Somewhere - anywhere -on your card, you need to add FOUR flaps.

Heidi has hers incorporated in the card opening, check it out:

Here's how it opens:

Isn't that cool?  I really like the jagged look of the flaps as they meet in the middle!

You can do the flaps any way you'd like (inside, outside, as the opening to the card) as long as there are four of them.

Tomorrow we're back with a sketch and a new sponsor...

Day 334 - Pick Ten

Pick TEN items - any and only ten - other than your card base, to include on your card.

These simple sounding challenges can be fun, but having to limit yourself to a specific number of items can be tough.

Sophie managed it beautifully on her card:

Clean and simple, right down to the color scheme!

So add any ten items that you wish to your card (that includes a sentiment), and see what you come up with...

Day 333 - Lovely Layers

As you might have already guessed, this challenge is all about adding layers to your card.

But you know it's never that simple, so here are the requirements:

Layer at least 2 different things (for instance a stack of rectangles to frame an image, or a stack of blossoms), and there must be at least 3 layers for each stack.

Hannah got very creative with this one, check it out:

As you can see in the photo above, she created a 3-layer frame for the image.  Here is a close-up of her other layers:

How clever to divide the image itself into layers!!

If you like what Hannah did, go ahead and follow her lead, or come up with your own idea for creating some "lovely layers" on your card...

Day 332 - This and That

The challenge is called "This and That" - as in "this color" and "that theme"...

And here are the specifics:

Make a card that has a lot of yellow and is meant to cheer someone up.

Kim has put together a great example, check it out:

Those paws in the inside are a wonderful touch!

This card would definitely cheer me up :-)

So add lots of yellow and make a cheery card, and that's the challenge...

Day 331 - Feeling Sassy

Wow, what a week we had last week!!  Such inspiration from all your cards that you shared, and although I didn't get a chance to comment on all the cards, I truly enjoyed looking at them (and I know the DT did, too)!

As promised, I have some prizes (a package full of scrappy goodness) ready to send off to 2 lucky winners.  Congrats to Iruha and Eileen K!!!  Please email me here with your addresses so I can get your packages off to you.

It was definitely tough narrowing down the Spotlight Designers from last week, but here are the fantastic cards that we would like to feature:

You all so beautifully captured the words for these days!

And here's a fabulous bunch of Weekly Challenge All-Stars:

Eileen K., Iruha, Iona Sue, Paula Bee, Pamela S. Wade, and Linda B.

And now on to today's challenge...

The sponsor for the week inspired this challenge since all the images they offer have some serious "attitude".  So I thought maybe we could have a challenge that requires a little "sass" on your cards, what do you think?

Here's Audrey's card for the challenge:

Is it possible for that dog to be cute and sassy at the same time?  I think so!  That image just makes me smile.

So now it's your turn to show us a little sass on your cards...

Monday, January 24, 2011

Day 330 - Shape Up!

This one, as you might have guessed, is all about adding certain shapes to your card.

Specifically, I challenge you to add an oval, a square, and a diamond (in any quanitity, but there must be at least one of each) to your card.

Gloria used this super sassy image from Digis with an Attitude on hers:

Ah yes, my thoughts exactly, lol!  And I love all this beautiful blue, Gloria.

So anything goes on your card for this challenge, as long as it includes a diamond, a square and an oval...

Day 329 - Super Sketchy Sunday

It's a new week, which means a sketch and a new sponsor, so let's get started!

Here's your Sunday sketch:

And your Design Team examples:

Manoli

Wendi

Tesa

Sophia

And now I'd like to welcome this week's sponsor:

Digi’s With Attitude! is a Digital Stamp Company that brings sass & attitude to your stamping projects!

Day 328 - Saturday's Word of the Day

Here's a fabulous way to finish off the week -- Heidi chose the word "Happy".

Wonderful card, Heidi - such a great way to share the things that make you feel "happy"!

Now, you can use the word on your card and say things such as "Happy Birthday" - but like Heidi, I challenge you to convey happiness on your card.

We'll be back tomorrow with a sketch and a new sponsor...

Day 327 - Friday's Word of the Day

Ahhhh Love, it was about time for that word to come up!

That's the word that Sophie chose, and it is fitting for so many occasions.

Here is her card:

Clean and simple and straight to the point!

Whether you add lots of embellishment or you keep it simple, let's see what the word LOVE means to you...

Day 326 - Thursday's Word of the Day

I looooooooove today's word, primarily because Hannah found the perfect quotation to share.

The word is Peace, and this is what it means to Hannah:

Absolutely stunning, and the soft colors are peaceful, too!

I must thank Manoli again for coming up with this idea, because it has been such a pleasure seeing what the Design Team has come up with, and I cannot wait to look at all the cards you've all been posting...

Day 325 - Wednesday's Word of the Day

Kim chose a fun word for her card...Bliss

There are so many possibilities when it comes to representing this word on your card, and here's what Kim did with hers:

Such an elegant card, and I think the quotation is perfect!

So how would you create "Bliss" on your card?

Day 324 - Tuesday's Word of the Day

Here's the lucky winner from Stitchy Bear Stamps Week...

Congrats to Paula Bee!!  Contact me here and we'll get you your prize :-)

Now let's talk about the amazing gallery of cards last week.  WOW!!  In fact, I think I used "wow" a ridiculous number of times in my comments, but that's how stunning, creative, and clever your cards were.

It was tough to pick just 7 Spotlight Designers, but here they are:

Thank you all for sharing these fantastic cards with us, and please feel free to grab the Spotlight Designer badge from the sidebar!

The following 4 fabulous designers completed each and every challenge last week:

Eileen K., Cherubs, Linda B., and Lorraine W.

Well done to all of you!

And now back to our week of inspirational words....

Today, Audrey has chosen "Believe" for her word:

A beautiful sentiment for this beautiful card!

And now it's your turn to show us what this word means to you...

Monday, January 17, 2011

Day 323 - Monday's Word of the Day

Inspiration Week here at 365 Cards is in full swing, and Gloria's chosen her word...Wisdom.

She's chosen a lovely piece of scripture to convey what this means to her:

Beautiful!

So take the word "Wisdom" and either use it somewhere on your card or use other words and images to convey what wisdom means to you...

Day 322 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Friendship, Focus, Courage, Strength, Serenity, Joy

These are the words that have inspired our cards today, and we hope they inspire you, too.  That's why we're calling this whole week Inspiration Week!

Each member of the Design Team has selected a different word that holds some special meaning for us, and we are using our respective words on our cards this week.

Today the Sunday Sketch Team is combining our words with the sketch:

Along with her card, Tesa chose Friendship

Manoli chose Serenity

Rose picked Joy

Wendi used Focus

Sophia chose Strength

And I picked Courage

I have to give credit to Manoli, who got all of us thinking about the word that best conveys what means the most to us, or what we hope the year will bring.

I'm sponsoring two prizes this week...

1) If you participate in the Sunday sketch and choose one of the six words above to include on your card, you will be entered into one drawing.  It counts if you use one of the words to inspire your card (not necessarily using the exact word in the sentiment).

2) If you participate in an any or all the challenges this week, you will receive up to 7 entries in a second drawing.

We hope you are as inspired by these words as we are, and that you'll stick around because we'll have 6 more words to inspire you all week long!!

Day 321 - Getting Buggy

Let's have a little fun with bugs, shall we?

Here's the challenge:  Use an image of a bug on your card and incorporate the name of the bug in your sentiment, or use some cute little play on words.

This one definitely makes more sense after you see an example, and Heidi's is a great one, check it out:

Bee mine?  More like, bee-autiful!!

So that's the challenge, now have some buggy fun with it...

Friday, January 14, 2011

Day 320 - Double Duty

I think some of the nicest cards you can get are the ones that have more than one purpose.  So that's what today's challenge is all about.

Here it is: Create a card that also includes a removable bookmark.  The bookmark can also be the primary decoration on the card.

So super cute!!

I love how you incorporated the sentiment, Sophie!

So create a card that also includes a detachable bookmark, and you'll have this challenge done...

Thursday, January 13, 2011

Day 319 - In Stitches

I love the look of stitching on the card (sewing, too!) and whether done by hand or using a machine, the results just add that certain something that can make a card extra special.  I think it's the kind of thing that really sets it apart from a store bought card, you know what I mean?

So the challenge is to incorporate TWO TYPES of stitching on your card.  For instance, Hannah used a straight stitch and a herringbone stitch on her card, check it out:

So beautifully done, Hannah, and I really like the way you've incorporated this precious Stitchy image!

If you prefer not to use the real thing, you can try your hand at faux stitching instead -- it can also be done beautifully.  No need to get too fancy, a little bit of stitching goes a long way!

This  might also be the time to try a stitch you've never done before...

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Day 318 - On Edge

The focus of this challenge is the edge of your card; specifically the front edge.  Using a paper punch, create a patterned border on just the front edge of your card.  If you don't have a border punch, you can create your own pattern using single shape punch.

Kim used a beautiful border punch for hers:

I think the combination of elements with this silhouette make for such an elegant card, it would work for Gloria's challenge this week, too!!

I guess this is one of those times when it's ok to be bit "punchy" ;-)

I'm really looking forward to see what you all come up with for this one...
