Day 243 - Imagine This: Starry Skies

What do Starry Skies make you think of?  Shooting stars, nursery rhymes about a cow jumping over the moon, or maybe a campout?

Whatever it is, you need to show it on your card.

Day 242 - Technologically Advanced

I don't know if it's true of all of us, but it seems that these days we are getting exposure to the latest advances in technology everywhere we go!

So let's embrace it by incorporating it into our cards.

By the way, I've struggled with Blogger when it comes to commenting on some of the cards.  It depends on the format of the comment box, but it tells me that I don't have permission and that I will have to log in with a different email address.  If anyone has a solution, please let me know.  I just want you to know that I've tried commenting (some work, so don't) on lots of cards and I'm not dissing you I promise!!

So today's challenge is all about celebrating cards with everyday sorts of sentiments and themes.  It sounds easy at first, but you need to avoid specific occasions, including a Thank You, Missing You, Get Well, Birthdays, Holidays, etc.

It needs to be something you would send for an "everyday" purpose.

Here's what Audrey came up with

Perfect - it can fit any occasion, nothing specific.  The images are suitable for this purpose, as well.  No birthday cakes and candles, no poinsettias -- nothing obvious.  Whew, that is a tough one, isn't it?  Well done, Audrey!

Day 238 - Embellished Bow

Bows on cards are truly beautiful, so let's make them really stand out.  Find two ways to embellish your bow any way you'd like.

Day 236 - Evens and Odds

Hey 365 Cards Fans!

It's been a busy day for me -- one I've come to affectionately refer to as Soccer Saturday.  I have a break between sporting events to bring you this challenge and my card to go along with.

Here's the challenge:

You need to have an even number of embellishments and an odd number of embellishments on your card.  The sentiment does not count as either, so you can choose to add that however you wish.

And here's my example

I've got three different patterned papers -- some Basic Grey Halloween-themed paper.  I counted the purple floss as one of my embellishments and the pumpkin charm as the other.

You can have as much patterned paper and as many embellishments as you want, as long as you stick to the rule of evens and odds in this challenge.

Day 235 - Seeing Spots

I just adore polka dotted paper, so I wanted to have a challenge that celebrates this style of patterned paper.

So here's what we're looking for...

Three different papers that feature polka dots

Simple as that.  And here's Jennifer's card

And you can have more than 3 papers, but you must have at least 3...

Day 234 - Opposite Day

Good Morning, 365ers!  I've got two challenges rolled into one today...

First think about how you would describe yourself - all the different aspects of your personality. 

Second, use that description to create a card that is the OPPOSITE of how you would describe yourself.

Hannah thinks of herself as mellow, and someone who like to keep things simple.  So she used a busy pattern and not-so-clean lines on her card.

This is fantastic - I think Hannah did a beautiful job capturing the "opposite" of how she would describe herself.

So you must tackle the first challenge in order to move on to the next one...

Day 233 - Simply Stamped

Some the loveliest cards I've seen have had very little decoration, but are primarily stamped.  I don't know about you, but I get nervous when I just do stamping on my card because I fear even the slightest imperfection will be glaring.  This is a good opportunity to practice some clean and simple stamping.

So here's the challenge

Use only three stamps, plus one other embellishment (this part is optional) to design your card.  Your sentiment can be an additional stamp if you wish.

Gorgeous!  I love the way that bold pink stands out against the green background.

Day 232 - Color Scheme

Before I share the challenge for today, let's take a look at last week's Spotlight Designers

I have to say that my favorite day was the Sunday sketch -- so many wonderful cards, it was hard to choose.  Even with the sketch that really screamed TREES, you all managed to create very different card designs.

Day 231 - Staple It

It's an everyday tool that can be used for a creative project -- in this case for decorating a card.  I'm talking about a stapler, and you need to use it for your card on this challenge.

I'm up today with my take on the challenge, and here's my card

That's a hand-cut heart that I stuffed and stapled.  And then I threw some staples in the patterned paper at the bottom of the card.

Any old staple will do, and you need to add some to your card, and see if you can do it in a decorative way...

Day 229 - So Sophisticated

Sometimes we use the words beautiful, elegant, gorgeous, and pretty to describe a card.  But my question for you today is

"What does Sophisticated look like?"

And that's what needs to guide the design of your card.

Day 228 - Absolutely Fabulous

I love that word "Fabulous" and I sure do use it a lot.  And now you can use it, too...on your cards, that is!

So that's it, that's the challenge - use the word "fabulous" as part of your sentiment.

Day 227 - Fun With Floss

I've been seeing these things all over the place and they look so cool on cards.  What am I talking about??

If you don't know what I mean, check out Hannah's card

Wow, that is soooo cool!  And if you don't have floss you can use twine, yarn or string.  The idea is to just not simply wrap it around your card but to make it more the focal point of your card but decorating a shape with it.

Day 224 - Paint, Mists, and Glitter, Oh My!

Are you the kind of crafter who likes to get messy with paints and such?  If so, this is the challenge for you!

You need to use at least two of the following

Paint, Mists, Glitter

on your card.

Otherwise, anything goes.
