Day 275 - Divide and Conquer

So here's a fun one, I think...

Divide your card into 4 parts - and each part should have a different background pattern.  However else you decorate the card is up to you.

Here is Kim's card

Wonderful colors and patterns!!

And if you're wondering whether you need to have EQUAL parts, the answer is no - as long as it's divided into 4 parts.

Divide your card as described and you will "conquer" this challenge ;-)

Day 274 - Keep it to Yourself

Here are the Spotlight Designers from last week's challenges

Such a fabulous set of cards!

And a big high five goes to Mark Angel for being the only card maker to complete all the challenges!!

Every now and then I like to throw in one of these "Keep it to Yourself" challenges because it's a good reminder that you don't have to put a sentiment on the front of your card - sometimes the images speak for themselves.

Today's challenge is to have a Winter theme on the front of your card, and if wish to add a sentiment, pop it on the inside of your card.

Here's Audrey's example

Cute, cute, cute!

Keep the sentiment to yourself, and let the theme shout loud and clear from the images on the card...

Day 273 - Pretty in Pastels

How do you feel about pastel colors?  It seems people either like them or they don't - not much in-between, but I could be wrong.

What I do know, is that requiring you to use all pastels on your card might be something of a challenge, and so that's what we're looking for on this one.  And let's make it a minimum of FOUR colors - nothing bold, either!

Here's what Annie came up with

And despite the fact that Annie tells me it was a toughie, I think she did a marvelous job with it!

So, how do you feel about pastel colors?  Love 'em or hate 'em, let's see them exclusively on your card...

Day 272 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Happy Sunday, 365ers!  I don't know about you, but I've been playing catch-up today trying to get all the things done that I need to do to get ready for my week.

And one of those things is kicking off the week with a sketch and some fabulous DT cards.

Here's the sketch

And the Design Team cards

Have a great week!

Day 271 - Keep it Simple

Sometimes it's nice to just keep things simple and add only a few items to your card.  So here's what you need for this challenge

Cardstock base, 1 patterned paper, 2 embellishments, and a sentiment - that's all you can have on your card.

Here's DoBea's example

Simply beautiful!

How do you feel about keeping things simple?  Let's see it on your card...

Day 270 - Lovely Layers

Layers are wonderful on cards, and they work with paper and embellies.  And today's challenge has to do with layering ribbon.

Here are the specifics

Layer ribbon at least 3 different places on your card.

How many layers you do is up to you.

Here's Jennifer's example

Lovely for sure!

You can really challenge yourself and see if you can do 3 or more layers for each set :-)

Whatever you do, you must at least create 3 sets of layers and link up your card here...

Day 269 - Scraplifting With Hannah

We are thankful for you, our bloggy friends for sharing your talent and love of crafting with us!  Even if you aren't in the US celebrating this holiday, it is still a great opportunity for us here at 365 Cards to tell you how grateful we are that you come back day after day and hang out with us.

So let's get to today's challenge

I asked Hannah to create a card of her choosing for us to scraplift

Here's her card

How fitting that sentiment is for today :-)

So here's watch you need to do for the challenge

Be a copycat and select FOUR elements of this card to scraplift.  You can copy the overall design, card shape, embellies - anything you want, and it doesn't have to be completely copied as long as you choose four elements to follow from Hannah's card.

Have fun with the challenge, and if you are celebrating today, have a safe and happy holiday...

Day 268 - Fun With Food

For this challenge, you need to use an image of a food item (a beverage will work, too) on your card, and then add a sentiment that incorporates the name of the food.

You know what I'm talking about - those cute little sayings that is a fun play on words.

Kim created some adorable little 3x3's for this one

So cute!!

Pull out those stamps, stickers, rub-ons and anything that is foody and add a fun sentiment to match...

Day 267 - Fall Tag

Here are the {Spotlight Designers} from last week's challenges

And these two fabulous card makers completed all the challenges

Mark Angel
Jenny (aka Wifey Cookie)

So they are the Weekly Challenge All-Stars for sure!!

Today's challenge is to make a Fall/Harvest-Themed Tag

Here's Audrey's example

This is so elegant!

There are lots of options for this one, so we should get a nice variety of tags linked up and I'm looking forward to seeing them all :-)

Monday, November 21, 2011

Day 266 - Spin Me a Yarn

This is a challenge all about creating with yarn.  Specifically, create an embellishment out of yarn and add it to your card.

Annie went all out for this one, creating an ornament out of yarn

And here's a close-up of the ornament

Isn't that fabulous?

And despite all the wonderful details in the ornament, the card has a clean and simple look to it!

Now it's your turn to show us what you can make out of yarn...

Day 265 - Super Sketchy Sunday

It's Sunday and the sun is shining as I type this!

Are you ready for the sketch??  Here is is

And some lovely Design Team cards

Have a wonderful week, and come on back tomorrow for another challenge...

Day 264 - It's the Thought that Counts

You've heard this saying before, but what does it have to do with today's challenge?

It's simple really - just add a thought bubble, or if you prefer, a talking bubble to your card and be sure that your ENTIRE sentiment is in the bubble.

Here's DoBea's fabulous example

Isn't that adorable?

Don't worry if you don't have a stamp or sticker in this shape, because a thought bubble is really easy to make.  And then you just add it to your card...

Friday, November 18, 2011

Day 263 - ATC on a Card

This doesn't have to be a true ATC (aka Artist Trading Card), but the idea is to start with a 2.5"x3.5" piece of cardstock and decorate it the way you would any ATC, then add it to your overall card.

Sound easy? Tricky?

Take a look at Jennifer's and then decide

As you can see, what you can end up with is a beautiful card!

So you can do this anyway you want, as long as you use an ATC as the general focus of your card.

Thursday, November 17, 2011

Day 262 - Feeling Grunge-y

And I mean that in a good way!

There's a whole style out there devoted to this look, and on cards it definitely works.  How you decide to get grungy is up to you.

I knew this one might be a challenge for Hannah, since I believe it's a bit out of her comfort zone.  But I think she did a beautiful job, check it out

See, isn't it fab?

So how do you feel about this style of crafting?  I can't wait to see how it turns out on your cards...

Day 261 - Color Scheme

It's always fun to throw in a color challenge, and today Kim is sharing an exceptionally beautiful card.

Here are the colors

And Kim's example

Check out that coloring job on that precious little girl!

Nicely done, Kim :-)

What do you think of the color scheme?  Give it a try and link it up here...

Day 260 - Make a List and Check it Twice

Congratulations to

Frances Poff!!!

You've won the prize from My Creative Classroom.

Please contact me HERE to claim your prize.

Here is a peek at last week's Spotlight Designers

Wonderfully creative work!!

And here are the two Weekly Challenge All-Stars who completed all the challenges from Sunday to Saturday

Gina S.

Mark A.

Nice job!!

Today's challenge might sound easy, but it requires you to put only FOUR items on your card.  You must be able to list those four items when you link your card.

Here's Audrey's example

Absolutely stunning!

And here's her list:

Snowman Image

This challenge requires you to keep it simple, and you must be able to specifically list your 4 items.  There's a little room for flexibility, but don't overdo it.

Day 259 - Try a Technique

Before I share today's challenge, I want to draw your attention to Sunday DTer Manoli's blog.  Please check out her post HERE and leave a comment.  Today is World Diabetes Day, and Manoli and I both have a child with Diabetes.  We would like to help raise awareness for this disease, and she has created a beautiful gift card for the occasion.

Today's challenge is called "Try a Technique", and the technique we want you to try (if you haven't before) is Spotlighting with stamping.

The idea is to draw attention to just one little stamp or an aspect of a stamp.

Here's Annie's example

Beautiful Clean and Simple card.  And you can see how she spotlighted just one vase with a flower.  It's a great technique and I think you'll enjoy it if you've never tried it before.  If you have and you want to share a card featuring this technique, please link it up here!

Day 256 - The 3 R's

Happy 11-11-11!!!

And since it is Veteran's Day, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the men and women who have served and protected this country.

Today's letter is R, and the two items I've chosen for the challenge are

Rhinestone and Rick Rack

The 3rd "R" item is up to you.

Jennifer chose Ruffled Ribbon as her 3rd item

Beautiful color scheme!  And the rick rack/ribbon looks fabulous layered like that.

Lots of "R" items to choose from, what will you pick?

Thursday, November 10, 2011

Day 255 - The 3 B's

Today's letter is "B", so you'll need to include 3 items that begin with the letter B to your card.

The two I've chosen are

Blue and Brass

You get to pick the 3rd.

Hannah chose Bird

And we had a little chuckle over this because Bow and Birthday also work for her third B item.

And B also stands for Beautiful Card!

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

Day 254 - The 3 P's

We've got another 3 required items for you.

This time they all begin with the letter P.

The two items I picked are

Pet and Pink

And of course, you get to pick the third "P" item.

Kim chose Polka Dots, check it out

That patterned paper is all fabulous!  And she's got all 3 items on there :-)

What will you choose for your 3rd P item?  There are certainly lots of things to choose from...

Day 253 - The 3 T's

We have the winner of the digi prize package from Robyn's Fetish...

Congrats to

Paula Bee!!!

Please contact me here to claim your prize.

Here are the Spotlight Designers from last week

Special shout out to NiMu, a very talented 5 year-old, thanks for sharing this card with us

It was one of those weeks where I had some very specific challenges, and you all rose to the occasion!

Speaking if which, with some tough challenges it's especially impressive that these designers completed ALL the challenges

Mark A.
Ivonne S.

Nice work, Everyone!!

Today's challenge is called The 3 T's, and as with yesterday's challenge, I provide 2 of the T's and you get to come up with a 3rd.

Here are my two items

Trinket and Teal

Audrey added Torn Doily to the list and here's her card

Gorgeous work, Audrey!  I love the non-traditional colors and Audrey tells me that she made the trinkets herself, so if you don't have a little trinket to your card, you can make one :-)

Back tomorrow with another set of items...

Monday, November 7, 2011

Day 252 - The 3 F's

Today's challenge is called the 3 F's because there are 3 items that begin with the letter F that you need to include on your card.

The first two items I provide, and then you can come up with the 3rd F item.

Here are my two

Fringe and Fussy Cutting

Annie chose Flower as her 3rd item and here's her card

Gorgeous card!  And it looks like Annie created her own fringe with the patterned paper - very creative :-)

So you can use Annie's 3rd F along with the 2 I've listed, or you can use one of your own...
