Day 337 - Take Note

Here are your Spotlight Designers from last week

Nice work Everyone!

And the Weekly Challenge All-Stars managed to complete all seven challenges

Carol H.
Mark A.
Heather Az

Thanks to Design Team member Wendi for providing a fabulous prize package for one lucky winner.  That winner from last week is

Laureen!!!
Congrats to you - please contact me here to claim your prize.

Today's challenge is to use note paper, a sticky note, or some other similar item on your card.

Here's Audrey's card

Cute little note card on this one!

It sounds simple,  but how easy is it to include this little item on your card?

Give it a try and then link up your card here...

Day 336 - Simply Stated

Hey 365ers!

I was out-of-town yesterday and today celebrating my daughter's birthday at an indoor water park (yay!) which made it difficult for me to get today's post up in a timely manner.

However, if you ever want to see the current challenge sooner, we're pretty good about getting the details up on our Facebook Group page if you want to join us over there.

But enough of that business, let's get to the challenge.

This one is called Simply Stated because we want you to keep that sentiment short and sweet.  Specifically it must be exactly 2 words long.  That's it, otherwise anything else goes.

Check out Annie's card

Simply Stunning!

And here's a close-up of that sentiment

So many stamps have just two words, or you can use alphas or rub-ons.  The problem is likely going to be picking one and building your card around that sentiment.

Have fun creating and link up your card here when you're done...

Day 335 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Here's your Sunday Sketch...

And a knockout bunch of cards from the Sunday Designers

Erin

Rose

Wendi

GDT Paula

A great big THANK YOU to Paula Bee for sharing her wonderful cards with us this month!!

Have a fabulous week...

Day 334 - So Good

This one is pretty straightfoward...

Just use the word "Good" as part of your sentiment, EXCEPT that you cannot say "goodbye".  Other than that, anything goes.

Here's DoBea's card

I would have to say, that this is not just good it's great!

Whatever works for you, works for this challenge, as long as there's a little 'good' in it :-)

Day 333 - At This Moment

As you're reading this post, think about where are you at this very moment, whether it's the exact place or an activity you did today, that should be the thing that inspires your card.

Jennifer had a proud day with her son when she created this card

This wonderful card perfectly captured how she felt at the moment she created it.

Don't spend a lot of time thinking about it, just let how you feel or what you are doing at this moment inspire your card design.

Day 332 - Itsy Bitsy

Here's a fun little challenge for ya...

Make a teeny tiny card - less than 3" by 3" - otherwise the dimensions are up to you.

Hannah made a little square card just short of 3x3

A small card with a big beautiful message!

No one says a card has to be big to be special or meaningful.

Create a little cutie card and link it up here...

Day 331 - Nautical

Hmmmm - can it really be that simple?

Why, yes it is.  Today's challenge has a theme,  and that theme is anything "Nautical".

It's one of those where you might be thinking that you would like a good example to get those creative juices flowing.  And you know you can count on Kim to provide one.

Wow, this is fantastic - such a peaceful looking image...

I didn't want to be too specific on the challenge, and there are lots of possibilities.  So give your card a "nautical" look and the rest of the design is up to you.

Day 330 - I've Got it Covered

Here are your Spotlight Designers from last week's challenges

And the Weekly Challenge All-Stars

Mark A. and Carol H.

Way to go getting all those challenges done!!

Today's challenge is to cover the background with at least two different patterned papers, making sure they don't overlap.

And here's Audrey's card, which celebrates Chinese New Year

Fabulous colors and patterns on this card!

It shouldn't be too tough - it's just a matter if deciding which patterned papers you want to use and placing them on the background of your card.  As for the rest of the card, anything goes...

Monday, January 23, 2012

Day 329 - Color Scheme

We've got some beautiful colors picked out for you to work with today, check them out

Annie kept it simple with her card

Lovely butterflies!

And as you can see, you don't need to find paper that uses this color scheme - you can create it all sorts of ways, just by coloring in an image.

Do your very best to stick the colors above and link your card up here...

Day 328 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Is the weekend over already??  Boy, that sure went by fast for me!

And here it is Sunday, and time for another sketch...

And some lovely DT cards

Wendi

Rose

Erin

GDT Paula

And our very own Design Team member Wendi is providing a RAK for this week's winner!

Just play along once this week (or twice or three times or...) and you'll get your name entered into a random drawing for that prize.  Here's a photo of that scrappy goodness

WOW!  Now that is some great stuff!!

It's easy to win, and pretty fun to play :-)

Have a great week and come back and visit us to see what we're up to...

Day 327 - Shape Up!

This challenge is all about fun with shapes and really making them count on your card.

You can use any shape you want as long as it has scalloped edges, and you really want to feature them on your card.

Here's what DoBea did with the challenge

And it is such a creative way to add scallops to the card!!

Beautiful :)

It seems scallops can be found everywhere - on stamps, punches, patterned paper - and now they can be all over your card...

Day 326 - Imagine This: Breezy

I don't know - maybe it was the cold winter wind blowing outside the other day, or perhaps I've just been dreaming of Spring and fresh breezes.  Either way, I'd love to see what you do with this Imagine This challenge.

Let the word Breezy inspire your card.

I think Jennifer's is right on the money, check it out

I would love to be standing on a beach enjoying a breeze coming off the ocean - especially a warm one!

But whatever breezy means to you is all the matters in this challenge.

Create a card and link it up here...

Day 325 - Inside Out

I posted the Spotlight Designers and Weekly Challenge All-Stars last night, and you can see Tuesday's updated post HERE.

As for today's challenge, let's get started...

It's called Inside Out and here's how it works

Put your sentiment on the front of the card, and the decorations on the inside.  Keep any decorations on the outside down to little or none.

Hannah really made a fantastic card for this one

See what I mean?

Making the card this way gives the recipient a little surprise inside!

So now you can make your card inside out and link it up here...

Day 324 - Bold Banner

Okay, I am going on two snow days in a row - yikes!  It's time for the kids to get back to school so Mom can get back to work!!

But seriously, we do have a challenge for today and it's called Bold Banner.

We've had a sort of create-a-banner challenge before, but this one requires that you make it the focal point of your card and incorporate it into the sentiment.

Kim's is a fabulous example, check it out

Wow, I absolutely adore that background paper!!

And that is one bold banner for sure :)

I know I promised that I would have the Spotlight Designers up last night, and I apologize for the delay, but they will be posted this evening.

Day 323 - Worlds Collide

I've got some Spotlight Designers to share with you

Some fabulous cards, thanks for sharing these with us!!

And we've got two Weekly Challenge All-Stars to recognize

Laurie
Mark A.

And if I missed anyone who complete all the challenges from Sunday to Saturday last week, please let me know!
The challenge is called "World's Collide" because we're mixing some Vintage Style with a little Clean and Simple.

Here's what Audrey did with it

Very classy!

If you like at least one of these styles, then you might like this challenge.  So let's see what you do when these worlds collide on your card...

Day 322 - Feeling Scrappy

As much as I love buying new papers, I've got lots of scraps that are still useful and I like to have an excuse to dig them out (and dust them off, lol!).

And that's what today's challenge is all about

Dig through those scraps and find 3 patterned papers and 2 pieces of cardstock to use on your card.  Aside from the cardstock base, the paper you use should be from scraps of paper.

Here's Annie's example

Ahhh, that dog looks so carefree, I'm jealous!

And her card design is perfect for small scraps of paper - no need to cut down anything new.

So start digging and find some paper that needs to find a home on your card...

Day 321 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Good morning and happy Sunday!

Let's get started with the sketch

And some Design Team cards

Wendi

Rose

Erin

Guest Designer Paula Beeman (aka Paula Bee)

Paula will be sharing her wonderful creations with us for the rest of this month, and if you want to check out more of what she can do (especially with her Cricut!) pop over to her blog Craft With Bee.

If you're interested in being a guest designer in February, play along with us some time over the next few weeks, and I might just be contacting you...

And sadly, we must say goodbye to one of our very talented Designers, Manoli.

She is such a lovely personal and a true artist, which shines on every card she makes.  Manoli, you will be missed!

Here's her card

Have a great week 365ers!

Day 320 - On the Fringes

There's no embellishment quite like fringe, so let's really use it for this challenge.

Here are the specifics

Use fringe in two different places on your card - not just around the base of the card.

Here's DoBea's stunning example

Wow, this would make a perfect wedding or anniversary card!  Or maybe even a non-traditional Valentine.

What we consider to be fringe varies, and you can always make your own using ribbon or paper, so don't limit yourself to already made fringe.

Friday, January 13, 2012

Day 319 - Just Me & My Shadow

Using shadow effects on cards can really enhance an image, and that is the focus of today's challenge.

Combine a shadow with words or an image and feature it on your card.

Here's Jennifer's example

Beautifully colored image!  And you can see how she darkened the green around the image to create a shadow.

It can be subtle or bold, and you can use words or images, as long as you create a shadow.

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Day 318 - Mini Monogram

Here's a cute little challenge -

Create a mini monogram or something similar on your card.  The idea is to not make it the focus of the card, but just a nice little edition.

Here's Hannah's example

This is just lovely, and the addition of the initials above the flower is the perfect touch!

Think of a good place to add a mini monogram to your card and link it up here...

Day 317 - Imagine This: Candy Land

With my girls, I'm playing lots of board/card games appropriate for young children.  One of my faves is Candy Land, which of course I enjoyed when I was little, too.  I think it's the rainbow colors and all that candy that still appeals to me.

And then I thought to myself that it would inspire lots of wonderful cards, and that is how I arrived at this challenge.

Here's Kim's card

Oh yes, this definitely fits the challenge, right down to all the lucious candy!!

You can use colors, images, patterns, whatever makes you think of Candy Land...

Day 316 - Card Recipe

Wow, what a great week of cards you shared last week!!  So many beautiful, creative, and simply fabulous cards made it difficult to select the Spotlight Designers.  Here's the group we decided on from challenges 307-312.

And we've got a wonderfully large group of Weekly Challenge All-Stars - woo-hoo!!

Heather
Kerry Louise
Sharon M.

Frances
Bjø rg

And for those who are first time All-Stars, we have a special blinkie just for you that you can proudly display on your blog, if you would like (which you can find over in the sidebar).

Today's challenge is a Card Recipe, and here are the ingredients

4.25x5.5 card
Stripes
Stickers (any amount)
Stamped sentiment
1 additional embellishment of your choosing

Audrey put together a sensational card, check it out

Such a great sentiment!

The idea of the recipe challenge is to follow it as closely as possible, because despite the specific ingredients, we all manage to come up with something quite different.

Day 315 - Ad Inspired

Hey 365ers, it's Monday and we've got a fun week of challenges up ahead.

Today, Annie brings you an Ad Inspired challenge.

And she sure did pick a great one, check it out

Isn't that gorgeous?

And here's her card

There's a heart frenzy on her card, and I "love" it!  Or should I say, I {heart} it?

Either way, it's beautiful.

There are tons of possibilities with this ad, and I have no doubt you will all find something wonderfully different about it to inspire your cards...
