Last, But Not Least...

Welcome

Jenny Jean Lim!!!!!

I am Jenny also Wifey Cookie in blogland.  I am originally from Manila but has relocated to Singapore since 2007.  I am in the I.T. practice and have been in it for about 9 years.  I go to scrapbooking and cardmaking to get away from all the work-related stress.
I am really excited to join the team and work with the talented ladies here at the 365 Cards Challenge Blog.  I see this as a great opportunity to share and inspire, as well as to learn and meet new people through paper crafts. Do visit me at the Cookie Adventures blog and say hello.
Jenny will also be designing on Sundays, and we are so glad to have her on the team!!

I'll be back on in a bit for my final post of the day...

And Here Comes...

Dana Seymour!!!!

I'm a left-handed crafty girl who loves to stamp, sing, read, cook, and be creative! I've been some sort of an artist since I was small, and always knew it would be a large part of my life.
Although I've been making cards since I was a child, I fell into the stamping hobby by accident in 2000, when looking online for greeting card ideas, and have never looked back! My card making style is pretty eclectic and I like to dabble in just about everything from vintage/shabby to clean and simple.
My husband and I are the proud parents of 2 boys, 2 cats and 1 dog. We are all vegetarians and live in beautiful upstate New York. I am a PPQ Officer with the USDA and spend most of my workdays outside inspecting for insects, plant diseases, and other invasive species.
I'm so excited to be a part of the 365 Cards Design Team!
And we're so exited to have you on the team, Dana!

She'll be part of our Sunday Design Team, so you'll get to see what she does with the weekly sketches.

One more designer coming up in a bit...

Another Introduction and a Bloggy Facelift

Ready to meet another fabulous designer?

Welcome Michelle Looi!!!

I'm a full time working mom of 2, and had tried to pick up scrapbooking again since mid last year. I started to make cards for Xmas last year and then I realised I do prefer to make cards, because it's not so overwhelming (in size) but also a challenge of one's creativity to squeeze into that small space too needs some planning to be done. I'm still picking up and learning techniques. My craft style skews towards incorporating some other media other than regular paper on the main cardstock, twine, buttons, felt and what nots and also playing with inks :) I hope to gain experience in the DT, and learn from others and improvise and importantly have fun!

http://scraposition.blogspot.com/

Michelle will be sharing her cards on Thursday challenges, so you'll get to see something from her tomorrow.

And as you can see, I've replaced our old header.  A new year means a new look :)

Welcome New Design Team!!

Happy Leap Day!!!

Let's have a little fun, shall we?  All throughout the day, I will introduce the new DT members and share winners, how does that sound?

So let's get started with an introduction....

Welcome Mary Aukers-Endres!

Hi, everyone! I am so thrilled to be part of 365Cards! I am a writer and Navy spouse living in beautiful Washington state. We just moved here from close to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I am a huge Phillies fan, lover of Bruce Springsteen, and a superfan of the show Lost. I am looking forward to working with the design team and meeting all of you!

You'll be seeing more of Mary on Wednesdays, and we are so happy to have her on the team!

I'll be back in a bit with another introduction...

Day 365 - Saying Goodbye

It's the last day of this 365 Cards year!!!!

This is the end of our 3rd year, and it never ceases to amaze me how time flies.

Today I will share the final challenge of the year.  I'll also give you one more day to get those cards done for any of last week's challenges that you want to do.

Tomorrow you will meet the new Design Team and I will share the winners.  Then on Thursday we begin our new 365 Cards year.

So let's get started with the challenge and Audrey's card

Saying goodbye can be hard, but it doesn't have to be, at least for this challenge.  Use the word "Goodbye", some portion of that word, or a similar phrase on your card.

Here is Audrey's example

A beautiful finish to a wonderful year!!

We'll be back tomorrow to kick off the new year in style, including debuting our new banner...

Day 364 - Flourishing

I don't know why, but there's just something about the way a beautiful flourish looks on a card.  So I'm thinking maybe THREE of them would be nice.

So that's the challenge -

Include 3 flourishes on your card design.

Annie created this fantastic card, adding flourishes in 3 different ways

So lovely!!

You can stamp them, draw them, stitch them - flourishes are everywhere and now they can be all over your card...

Day 362 - I'm Game

Here's a cute little challenge...

Use playing pieces, cards, or some other element that you might find in a game and include them/it on your card.

DoBea didn't have anything that went with a specific game, so she made use of what she already had.

And a peek at the inside

Isn't that brilliant And for all you Mario Bros. fans (including me!) you will recognize the reference DoBea made to that series of games.

Don't worry about not having just the right thing - now doubt you can get creative and come up with something that fits the challenge...

Day 361 - TIme's Up

I’m happy to report that there are no goodbyes today!

And next week there will be hellos as we welcome 4 new fabulous designers!!
Today we challenge you to create a card in 20 minutes or less.  Any theme you want, but see if you can create it in 20 minutes.
Jennifer stayed within the time constraints, except that she changed her mind about some brads and replaced them with buttons.  Check out her card

I love the colors on this one!
Sometimes I find the cards I create quickly are the ones that are my best because I don’t over think it.  See what you think – give this one a try and link it up here…

Day 360 - Scraplifting with Hannah

Another goodbye?  Yes, I’m afraid so L
Hannah has been with us for a long while now and she’s moving on to other things, but she will be missed!  Her elegant style to card making has been an asset to this team and we certainly hope she’ll come back and visit us from time to time!
So today you’ll be using her card, which captures her special style, for inspiration

And of course I’ll be sharing some of my favorite Hannah moments in card making.
Here’s one for a business card challenge
This challenge was to create a detachable ornament

And I believe this one was inspired by the movie Cars
Thank you, Hannah, for all the inspiration you’ve brought to 365 Cards!!!

Day 359 - Scraplifting with Kim

It's time to say goodbye to one of our fabulous and talented card makers.  We must bid Kim farewell, but not without giving her a proper exit.

I asked Kim to create a card that we can scraplift.  Take a look at this beauty

Truly a fantastic final project for 365 Cards, and with such a fitting sentiment, too!

So for this challenge, all you have to do is model your card after Kim's in some fashion.

When I have a DT member whose been around for a while, I stack up quite a few "favorites" over the months, and here are a few of my faves that Kim made

This one had moving parts

Here was a tough White Space challenge

And this one is simply beautiful

Thanks, Kim for all the cards you've created for us, and please come back and play along again sometime!!

Mark A.

And Susan D.

Today's challenge is a color scheme, and here are the colors we've got for you to sample from

And I swear I did not mean to make this look like a traffic light, lol!!

I also have Audrey's card to share with you, but we're having some technical issues!  I will get that posted as soon as I can.  For now, you can use these colors to get started with the challenge...

Day 357 - Terrific Ten

I’m talking about TEN different patterned papers here – any patterns used any way you want.

Annie did a great job tackling this challenge, check it out.

Wow, this is stunning – the patterned blend beautifully together!!

A challenge like this can seem overwhelming, but as you can see it’s totally do-able J

Day 355 - My Moment

As card makers we are often inspired to make cards based on very personal happenings in our lives, whether good or bad, and so it makes sense to touch upon this in a challenge.

Create a card inspired by a proud moment in your life.  Something that you did or perhaps witnessed someone else doing that makes you want to create a card..

DoBea's is a beautiful card that is inspired by a truly beautiful thing (or should I say, two beautiful things), her daughters.

So soft and feminine - quite lovely!

It really can be anything that inspires your card, as long as it qualifies as a proud moment in your life.

I'm really excited about all the wonderful applications we've received for the DT search.  If you're thinking about applying, you still have today to get it in...

Day 354 - Prickley

Hmmm - that's an interesting title, isn't it?

Well, it's because this challenge is all about texture.  Specifically, we'd like to see something with texture that's not smooth or soft, but rather fits under the description of "prickley".

Jennifer nailed this challenge with her card, check it out

And it's just a beautiful card overall.

Whatever 'prickley' means to you, let's see how it inspires your card.

Day 353 - Just Hanging Around

I love cards that have a little trinket on them.  When hung delicately from ribbon, floss or twine, it's especially lovely.

Hang at least two items from floss, string, ribbon, twine, or some other similar material.

I just knew Hannah would be able to create a fantastic card for the challenge, and here it is

Such an elegant card!

The dark brown is striking against the neutral background.

So have you checked out the details for the DT search?

Thinking about applying, but wondering if you should?  I say, go for it!  You'll make one card a week, you'll get to work with some fantastic sponsors and you'll have lots of fun in the process.

Check out all the info HERE.

Day 352 - Paperclipped

Today's challenge is nice and simple.

We would like you to use a paperclip (or two or three) on your card.

Here's how Kim used hers

Sooooo pretty!

It sounds easy, but let's see how you can fit some paperclips into your card design.

Day 351 - Adding a Little Bulk

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!

Congratulations to Michelle Looi!!!

You have won the prize from Bugaboo Stamps.  Please contact me HERE to claim your prize.

And here are the Spotlight Designers

And of course we must recognize the card makers who completed each and every challenge last week.

Way to go

Mark A.
and
Susan (aka Susande)

And now on to today's challenge...
Use chipboard as the base for a decoration on your card.  Any size, any shape, any theme.

Here's Audrey's card

What a gorgeous heart – love that deep red color.

And of course, this card is perfect for today.  The beauty of Valentine's Day is that it provides a great opportunity to tell someone or many someones that you love them.

Monday, February 13, 2012

Day 350 - Confetti

I'm feeling a bit festive with Valentine's Day coming up tomorrow, so I'm thinking it's time to have a party on our cards :)

Create confetti using a hole punch, and decorate your card with it.

I {love} Annie's card, and I think you will, too

Here's a close-up of that heart

So simple in design, yet it packs a big punch.

Have you gotten your cards submitted for last week's challenges?  Tomorrow we'll announce a winner from Bugaboo Stamps Week.

Also, be sure to check out 365 Cards Extra for all the details on our DT call.

Day 349 - Super Sketchy Sunday

It's Sunday, which means a sketch to inspire you.

And here it is

And here are the Design Team cards

Erin

Rose

Wendi

And here are some words from this week's sponsor

"Crimson Cloud is a mother/daughter venture - a way to indulge our joint passion of cardmaking and crafting. We only sell products that we have tried, tested and love using. We have developed our own exclusive range of dies cuts, digital stamps, svg files and "Make Your Own Card" kits which reflect our styles of card making - and hopefully yours too!"

And one lucky winner will win 3 packs of die cuts from Crimson Cloud!
To have a chance to win that prize, all you have to do is participant at least once during this week from Sunday to Saturday.

Have fun with the sketch!

Day 348 - So Comical

How do you feel about comics (aka The Funnies)?  I personally like to read them in the Sunday paper.  It's fun to see which ones actually make me laugh out loud.

Well, today's challenge is meant to be "comical" in some fashion.  You can take this one quite literally and reflect the general look of comics in your card, or you can be a little loose with it and stick to the funny side of things.

That's what DoBea did with this little cutie card

And here's the inside

Hmmmm....I may have to use that one on my Valentines this year.

Now it's your turn - Get comical with your card and share it with us!

Friday, February 10, 2012

Day 347 - Pop Culture

Here's a fun one, and you really don't need to know much about the latest fashion trends (although it helps!).

So that's what this challenge is all about - use one of the latest trends in fashion (Hair, make-up, clothes, accessories, etc.) to inspire your card.

Jennifer says she definitely found this one challenging and after checking out this site she settled on color blocking.

Very cool and it really translates well into a card

That darling image and that beautiful color scheme makes for one fabulous card.

If you like Jennifer's choice in trends, go for it and give color blocking a try.  If there's a trend you would before to follow, that's great, too!

Whatever you decide, create that card and link it up here...
