Day 61 - Layered

Layering in card making is fun, and looks great, and the word "layered" can refer to lots of things.

In this case I'm talking about layering stamps.  One great way to do this is to stamp an image on top of a background stamp, which is what I did in the card below

I kept the card design simple (as I generally do anyway) and kept most of the detail on the image.  I added red glitter pen to parts of the image to really make them stand out.

You don't have to do it the way I did - you can layer as many stamps as you want however you want to do it, and then link your card up here...

Day 59 - All Boy...Sort Of

From the title of this challenge you probably guessed that it’s about creating a card fit for a boy.

But we don’t like it to be that simple, so let’s add the challenging part…

Create a birthday card for a boy, but skip the traditional BLUE color.

Such a great example, and it definitely fits the challenge!

If you know a birthday boy, this is a perfect opportunity to make a birthday card for him, but no blue…

Day 58 - Color Scheme

The paw prints are a lovely touch.

DoBea does a wonderful job of selecting colors each week, and it's always fun to see what you create to match.

Day 57 - Try a Technique

Is there a crafting technique you always wanted to try, but never have?  How about one you've tried unsuccessfully that you want to try again?  Here is your opportunity...

Select new technique to try (or re-try!) and use it on your card.

She made a pom-pom with twine, a rolled felt flower, and she also tried a distress glue technique that she got from Split Coast Stampers.  Fun!!

Day 56 - Loud

If you like bold, bright and graphic cards, then this challenge is for you...

Have you ever looked at someone's outfit and said, "Now THAT is 'loud'" ?  If you have, then you know what I'm talking about when I say I want to see your cards reflect that idea that something you see can be described that way.

Wendi is sharing a card with us today, and it definitely fits that description in a very good way

Usually, to say something is 'loud' in appearance is not necessarily a compliment, but for this challenge if your card fits that description then it is definitely a compliment.

We'll use the term 'fringe' loosely here, so that you can make good use of what you already have on hand, and keep in mind that you create it yourself.

Good Morning!

I am bringing you a little sunshine with my card today.  We have had such beautiful weather the past few days,  so I took a photo of my card outside!

Well, when the weather is icky here - we get TONS of rain during the Winter months - and I love going to movies.

So I want to celebrate my favorite weekend activity with a challenge.

Today's challenge is to think "School" - I'm talking about using at least one image and one word that are associated with learning.

Day 49 - Getting Inky

Today's challenge is to find at least 2 uses for that stamp pad.  Any color, any type of ink will do.

And you can keep it simple, as I like to do.  Check it out

In this case, I used two different colors of ink, one for the flower stamp and the other to sponge on some red along the scalloped edge of the blue cardstock.

You can use as many ways as you wish, but use at least 2, and get inky with me!

Day 47 - White Space

Is it Monday already?

Well I guess that means it’s my turn to share a card J

Today I’m tackling a white space challenge and here’s how it works…

When designing your card, keep all the decorations to the blacked out areas if you can.

Here’s my example

One trick to this type of challenge is to make good use of the inside of your card.  I personally love to use patterned paper inside my cards – it’s a little surprise for the recipient.

If you’ve never tried a white space challenge before, give it a try.  You might be pleasantly surprised by how fun it can be…

Day 45 - I've Been Framed

Here's one that's nice and simple...

Frame and image with patterned paper.  Any image, any pattern you wish, but those are the only restrictions.

Day 43 - Just a Touch

Sometimes it's nice to leave an image simple, free of lots of color.

And that's what this challenge is about...

Select an image to add to your card, adding just a touch of color to it.

Any color you want to use is fine, but just add a touch of it to your image.
