Day 122 - My Apologies

Saying "I'm sorry" isn't the easiest thing to do.  Have you ever tried it in card form?  If not, here's your chance.

Here's the card DoBea made for the unfortunate occasion

All is forgiven, because this card is fabulous!!

But seriously, design the card any way you wish, as long as you include your apologies...

Day 120 - Sparkle and Shine

It's always fun to throw in a challenge that includes some sparkle and shine!

So today's challenge is all about that...

Find two techniques/items you can use on your cards to add sparkle and/or shine

Here's Michelle's card

Here's a close-up

It's difficult to see shiny things in a photograph, but Michelle used perfect pearls and a shiny brad on her card.

Do you love shiny things as much as I do?  Give them some attention on your card today!

Day 119 - Mail-able

One of the toughest things about creating cards is making something that is easy to mail without paying extra or using a large envelope.

Usually I don't worry about it - I make what I want and pay the extra postage, but today's challenge is all about creating a card that is easy to mail - but still looks fabulous, of course!

Here's my example

With a 4x6 envelope and a regular stamp, it's ready to go!

And isn't that elephant from Paper Pretties adorable?  I had such fun with the image and the sentiment that I used all over the background.

The challenge is to avoid making a bulky card...can you do it?  Give it a try and link your card up here...

Day 117 - Breaking Tradition

Hello and Happy Monday!  I'm up today with my take on a challenge and we've got a wonderful new sponsor, so let's get started...

The challenge is called Breaking Tradition because it's all about creating a card for an occasional with a non-typical design.

For instance, I designed a card about LOVE, but strayed from the traditional colors and patterns you might see with that.

That image and sentiment come from this week's sponsor

We'll be featuring digi images from this fabulous company all week long on our cards, and one lucky winner will receive SIX digi images of his or her choice at the end of the week!!

So play along anytime this week, and that winner might just be you...

ROUND

Here's Erin's example

Lots of "roundness" here!

She's used the background circle stamp on this card.

There are no rules for this challenge other than to be inspired by the word "round".

And here is Jennifer’s card

The contrast between the bright yellow and the red color is fabulous!

What will you do with these colors?

Day 106 - See Through

Create two windows on your card - any where and any way you wish, just be sure to have something peeking through them.

Michelle got very creative with hers

And here's a great side view of the heart window and the scallop shaped window.

Beautifully done, Michelle - this is a terrific example.

I'm sure you're wondering when I will ever update Tuesday's post.  Well, the Spotlight Designers have been selected, but it takes me time to put together the image of them all together.  I will be working on that this evening and updating it at the end of the day.

Day 105 - All Tied Up

With Father's Day around the corner, I've needed to make few cards for the occasion. I like a good challenge that allows me to get those cards made that I need anyway, and I thought maybe you would, too.
But I'm going to be a little less specific than that - so it doesn't need to be a card for a Father, but it does need to be a masculine card and it does need to have some sort of a "tie" on it.
Masculine cards are hard for me, but I think I did alright, check it out

And here's a look at the tie on the inside

The tie is completely handmade and it was easy to put together. You don't need a stamp, sticker or template, just a little patterned paper and a cutting tool.
So the rules are: masculine card with a tie
Create a card and link it up here.

Day 104 - Flip Flopped

Here are your Spotlight Designers

Here are your Weekly Challenge All-Stars

Mark A.
Caroline T.
Studio Sara

Great work, Everyone!!

The title of the challenge for today is called "Flip Flopped" and I'm not talking about shoes here...

Take a look outside your window - whatever season it is, whatever the weather, flip flop it on your card.  Simple as that.

Audrey is seeing nothing but rain where she's at, so she's dreaming of a warm sunshiney holiday.

Check it out

Currently I'm experiencing similar weather, so this card suits me just fine!
How is it looking where you are at?  Let's see the opposite of that on your cards...

Monday, June 11, 2012

Day 103 - Keep it Together

I'm excited about this challenge and the card Erin created for it.

Create a flap on your card that is attached to it in any fashion you wish.

Here's Erin's card

Isn't that fabulous?

Erin used a template from Stamp Away With Me to create this fishing vest for a great Father's Day card.

Create a flap (or two or three!)  and link up your card here...
