Day 153 - Comfort Zone

What is your comfort zone?  It might vary a little depending on the situation you're in, but I'm sure that some images are already popping in your head.

And that's good, because you'll need to come up with an image and/or sentiment that reflects what fits into your comfort zone.

Here's Audrey's

Yum, I must agree with this one!

But for you it might not be chocolate, so you can use whatever best suits you and share your card with us here.

Day 152 - Olympic Rings

I don't know about you, but I LOVE watching the Olympic games.

So many nations coming together in this wonderful tradition.

So that's what I want to inspire you for this challenge.

I call it "Olympic Rings" but that doesn't mean you have to put rings on your card.  But the symbol should inspire your design in some way.

Erin really created a fantastic card for this challenge.

Isn't that wonderful?  She's got it there right down to the sentiment!

If you're watching the games like so many of us are, then maybe take a break and create a card in honor of the occasion.

Day 151 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Ready for your Sunday Sketch?

Day 150 - I've Been Framed

Let's have some fun with frames today!

Create a frame for your card, but not just any frame...

This one should have lots of embellishment in two corners.  You can use anything you want, but let's get fancy with it.

Here's DoBea's example

Wow, that is gorgeous!  So many beautiful embellies in the corners!!

We're not getting too strict with this one, but we do want to see a frame with embellishments in to corners.

Day 149 - Color Scheme

Here's your Friday Color Scheme Challenge
And Jennifer's card

I have to say, I find color challeges to be among the hardest out there.  And Jennifer definitely delivers a great card each and every week!

How do you feel about color challenges?  I like to look for the color scheme in my stash of patterned papers, and sometimes I actually find a paper that fits the scheme.

Give this one a try and link your cards up here.

Day 148 - Mondrian

Many challenges ago we had one that paid tribute to the artist Piet Mondrian.  It was such fun I thought we'd revisit the challenge since have so many new card makers joining us since then.

So, all you have to do is use his style to inspire your card.

Here's Michelle's example

I just love how that background enhances the overall card design!

There's just no wrong way to do this, and the result is fabulous.  Give it a try and link your Mondrian-inspired cards up here...

Day 147 - Playing the Odds

The purpose of this challenge is to create a card that has an odd number of each type of element.

You can use as little or as much as you want of anything, as long as it adds up to an odd number.

Here's my example

So let's see....

1 digi image
5 punches (one big circle plus 4 corner punches)
1 piece of patterned paper
5 pearls
1 rhinestone
1 sticker
1 sentiment

Okay, so technically the sentiment is a sticker, but I gave myself a little freedom with that one.

Do your best and see if you can keep each design element to an odd number on your card.  And give us the details when you link it up.

Day 146 - Geometry

Here are last week's winners...

The Crimson Cloud prize winner is

Gill M.

Please contact me HERE to claim your prize.

Here are the Spotlight Designers

And of course we have some Weekly Challenge All-Stars

April O.
Caroline T.

Great job getting each and every challenge done last week!

Today's challenge is all about shapes.

We want to see three shapes - any three different shapes - on your card.

Here's Audrey's example

She used a circle, a rectangle and a rhombus.

Beautifully done, especially with that image from My Heart Pieces!

Monday, July 23, 2012

Day 145 - Overlapped

I'm up today with my take on a challenge called "Overlapped"

That means that we want to see every element on your card overlapping at least one other item on the card.

Here's my example

This was definitely a challenge for me, but I managed it :)

And I got to use this fabbie image from My Heart Pieces.  Although it's difficult to see in this photo, I outlined the image with a glitter pen to give it a little sparkle.

You can use any theme and any design elements you wish, as long as every component overlaps another component.

Day 144 - Super Sketchy Sunday

It's Sunday, which means time for a sketch and a new sponsor!

Here's the sketch for this week

And the Design Team cards

Our sponsor this week is My Heart Pieces, and you can images from their digi collection on the DT cards all week long.  So play along with us any day this week to have to have an opportunity to win a prize from them.

Day 143 - Opposite Day

And for this opposite, we're looking for something soft and something hard on your card.

Here's DoBea's example

The lace ribbon is the soft item and the metal brads are most definitely the hard items!

The concept seems pretty simple, but what will you do with the challenge?

Day 142 - Color Scheme

Here comes your Friday Color Combo...

And Jennifer is back to share her card for the week

Such a darling image, and it works beautifully with this color scheme!!

Give this combo a try and link your cards up here...

Day 141 - Delicate

Here's a simple, yet possibly "challenging" challenge...

Using something 'Delicate' on your card.

How you interpret that is entirely up to you.

Here are Michelle's examples

Both are equally beautiful, yet quite different.

The top card is meant to be more feminine, and both use an image of something delicate.

Whether it's an image of something or an item that you consider delicate, use it on your card and link it up here.

Day 140 - Layered Stamps

This challenge is all about layering stamps, specifically background stamps.  You can layer as many as you like, and if you don't have background stamps, you can use any type of stamp.

Here's my example

I kept this one pretty simple.

Can ya tell which stamp I inked up first?  I think they blend pretty well, what do you think?

Grab a couple of stamps and layer them up...

Day 139 - Twisted

Here's a "Better Late Than Never" post!

I decided to get the Spotlight Designers posted today, no ifs, ands or buts, so here they are

Such gorgeous work in the gallery this past week!!
And the Weekly Challenge All-Stars are....

Studio Sara
Liz O.
Carol H.
Caroline T.
Mark A.

And the challenge for today is called "Twisted" because we're looking for a braided or twisted material, such as floss, ribbon, twine or something similar.

Here is Audrey's example

Braided twine with beads along the side - beautiful touch!

I'll be back tomorrow with my take on a new challenge...

Monday, July 16, 2012

Day 138 - Imagine This: Enchanted

Hey 365ers and Happy Monday!!
We have got some Imagine This fun for you today.

Think of the word

And create a card to fit

Here's Erin's example

Darling!  And it totally fits the word.

What comes to mind when you think of the word 'enchanted'?

Day 137 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Is it time for another sketch already?

Well then, let's get started...

I don't often toot my own horn, but I was pretty proud of this one, and I love what the DT came up with for this, check it out

Such different, yet fabulous takes on the sketch!

And I'm happy to share that Crimson Cloud is back this week to sponsor a prize for one lucky winner :-)

Day 136 - Roll the Dice

This one should be left up to chance.

Roll a pair of dice, and whatever number pops up is the number of embellies you can add to your card.

That doesn't not include patterned paper, stamps or sentiments.  Things like buttons, ribbon, bling, etc. are what counts.

Here's DoBea's example

That is soooo cute!!!

And the number on DoBea's dice?  Sounds like she had a pair of snake eyes because her number was 2!

Day 135 - Color Scheme

Hi and Happy Friday!!

The sun is shining here, and that puts me in a very good mood :-)

Also, our fabulous designer Rose is jumping in with her take on the challenge.

Here are the colors

And here's Rose's card

Stunning card!

Let's see what you do with these colors.  Give them a whirl and link your cards up here...

Day 134 - Fun With Food

Can your food talk? Does it have a great big smile? There are so many images, stamps, and patterned paper depicting food that appears alive, animated, or just too cute for words. Find an image of food that fits this idea and share it on your card.

Michelle has two food-dorable cards for us today

What is it about mason jars?  I just love 'em and they are fabulous on these cards!!

Don't worry if you don't think you have just the right thing.  Work with what you and have some fun with food on your card.

Wednesday, July 11, 2012

Day 133 - Misty

Have you had the pleasure of playing around with mists yet?  It's never too late, and they enhance any paper craft project beautifully.

The question is, do you need to go out and spend money to create this effect?  Absolutely not, although that's definitely a good way to go.

If you don't own a mist, not to worry.  Just get creative with what you do have or pop online and punch in a search for creating your own mists.

I used a pair of shimmery mists to create a beautiful background for my card.

If you have a good recipe for creating your own mist, please do share with us!  And link your fabulous "misty" cards up here...

Day 131 - Keep it Simple: 3-2-1

This challenge is as easy as 1-2-3, or actually 3-2-1, as in

3 Embellishments, 2 Patterned Papers, and 1 Stamp

If the stamp you choose isn't a sentiment stamp, then you may also add a separate sentiment.

Here's Erin's example

Beautifully simple and I love how Erin incorporated all the elements!

If you like simple, this is the challenge is for you, and if you don't...well, good luck ;-)

Day 130 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Today I traveled across the country to bring this post to you!

I'm back home in Washington and finally getting down to the important business of sharing today's sketch and the Design Team cards

Nicely done, Ladies!!

I'll see ya back here tomorrow for some more challenge fun...
