Day 304 - Tuck it in Your Pocket

Today's challenge is create a pocket inside your card, and to be sure to give it some decoration - preferably something that coincides with the theme on the front of your card.
Here's DoBea's marvelous example

"Love" this card!
I really enjoy putting pockets on the inside of the card, but I'm looking for some new inspiration.  Let's see what ideas you come up with.  Start crafting and link those cards up here.

Day 303 - Color Scheme

Today I bring you my take on the Color Scheme (created by DoBea, of course)

And here's my card

I loved the toned down colors - nothing super bright, and I wanted a card that reflected it.
I have this wonderful collection of quotations that are already printed up this way, and they are perfect for cards (in size and sentiment).
We are nearly to the New Year, are you ready for it?

Day 302 - Blended

Your challenge for today is about taking ink, marker, paint, pencil, or some such item and blend colors in any manner you wish.
This is how Michelle did it

Wow is that stunning!!
And here's a close-up

By the way, here are the Spotlight Designers from last week

Too many celebrations and not enough work for me this week!!  But things are finally winding down and I am getting caught up now.

Day 301 - Pick Two

Pick one from each of these two categories to inspire your card creation:
1) Pattern choices: Paisley, Polka Dot, Houndstooth, or Toile
2) Themes: Love, New Year's, or Winter
Here's what Yvonne chose:

Polka Dots and Love
This puts me in the mood to start my valentines :-)
As long as you select an item/theme from each list above, you are free to add anything else you wish.

Day 300 - Light a Candle

A very Merry Christmas to all of our crafty friends near and far.  Whether or not you celebrate this particular holiday, we wish you much love and happiness this holiday season!

Today's challenge is to "light a candle" so to speak, whether you choose to put a candle on your card or simply add a flame.
Here's Audrey's example

Beautiful in blue!
You can choose any theme for your card, as long as you include a candle and/or a flame.

Day 299 - Pretty Petals

Let's see you do flowers two ways on your cards:
1) Use a stamp or patterned paper
2) Use at least one faux flower
Here's Eesha's example
What a lovely anniversary card.
If you're busy preparing for various Holiday celebrations, I hope you're finding a little peace and creative time for yourself.

Day 298 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Well, I don't know about you, but I do believe Wendi's sketches have been fabulous these past several weeks - like a breath of fresh air really, and I've so enjoyed seeing what the DT creates with them.
Here's her sketch for us today

And here are the DT's takes
Have a wonderfully festive week!!

Day 297 - Boy oh Boy

This one would definitely be a challenge for me
Create a card that is appropriate for a teenage boy
Here's DoBea's example
This is a terrific example!  I tried to imagine what I would come up with, and it wasn't as nice as this :)
For those who have a reason to make one, you might have fun inventing new designs for such a theme.

Day 296 - Color Scheme

Here are the colors for today

Here's Jennifer's card for the challenge

Oh this is just lovely - such a soft color scheme and this card design works beautifully for it.

You know what to do - create a card using this color scheme and link it up here.

Day 295 - Streeeeeetchy

Let's see what you can do with this one...
The challenge is to use an item that is considered to be
You can use any item you want, and the theme is entirely up to you.
Here's Michelle's example

Very cool - I  love how she framed the image.
There are no strict rules for this one, as long as one item you use fits the description of "stretchy".

Day 294 - Shape Up

Today's challenge is use an OVAL and a SQUARE as the dominant shapes on your card.  You can do this any way you want, but they need to really stand out on the card.
Here's Yvonne's example

That's sooooo pretty, and both shapes definitely stand out on this card!
You can use large shapes, or several small ones, but you must incorporate an oval and a square into your card design.

I just love tinsel - so festive, shiny and fun.  I thought it would make a fun Imagine This challenge.
Here's how it inspired Audrey
There is tinsel-like fringe running along the fold of her card - fabulous!

What do you think of you image TINSEL?  Let's see - create a card and link it up here...

Day 292 - Tone on Tone

Today's challenge is to create a stamped background using tone-on-tone coloring.
So essentially, the stamp that you use on the background should be slight darker than the cardstock, but otherwise the same color.
Here's Eesha's example for us

Such a beautiful contrast between the neutral background and the vibrate rainbow of colors on the foreground!
There is so much you can do with this, and you are only required to stamp a tone-on-tone background.

Day 290 - Opposite Week

Today we've got our last pair of opposites for the week...
And here's DoBea's example

It's beautifully simple.
Remember, there are no rules for these opposite challenges - as long is they inspire you.  Get busy creating (if you haven't already) and link those cards up for any or all of the week's challenges.

Day 289 - Color Scheme

Normally I don't bring up current events on this blog, but with the country reeling from the massacre in Connecticut this morning, I just want to express our grief for those who have suffered in that small community.  It's difficult to comprehend that such a thing can happen and it makes us all feel more vulnerable because of it.
It's hard to switch gears abruptly, so I will simply share the color scheme and Jennifer's card for today.

It's more appropriate than ever this holiday season to wish you all peace and love from your 365 Cards Design Team...

Day 288 - Opposite Week

Today I challenged Michelle (and you, too) to create a card using these Opposites as inspiration
Here's what Michelle created

Wow, that's a beautiful sentiment, and the card so fits this pair of opposites.
You can use a quotation like Michelle did, or you can use textures - or a combination of these.  Your options are wide open!
Have fun with it...

Day 287 - Opposite Week

Yvonne's up today with her take on an Opposite pair, and that pair is
Here's what she came up with

Isn't that fabulous?
Initially, I think these opposite challenges seem tough, but when you see what the DT comes up with, you're sure to be inspired!

Here are the Spotlight Designers from last week's challenges
Such talent and creativity out there!!
If you look over at the top of the sidebar, you will find the current Weekly Challenge All-Stars.  I think it's simply fantastic that they are able to create a card for every challenge we offer during the week, that I wanted to give them a special place of honor.  Each week, I will change that list accordingly.
Today's Opposite challenge is
Audrey came up with a super clever way to use these opposites, check it out
Perfect for the cold weather I'm currently experiencing!
You can create a card of any theme as long as it's inspired by the words
Hot and Cold.

Day 285 - Opposite Week

I'm doing a little something called "Opposite Week" where I give you a set of opposites and you get creative with them.
The key to these challenges is not to feel too restricted by the opposites and let those creative juices flow.
I thought we'd kick off these challenges with a more straightforward one.
On the color wheel, there "opposites" at least in how they are positioned.  So you'll find Red opposite Green, Blue opposite Orange, and Purple opposite Yellow.  Choose one of these pairs as your color scheme and see what you come up with.
Here is Eesha's example

Beautiful - I love the use of the sequins.
You can add other colors if you wish, but try to stick primarily to the two colors use choose for this first "opposite".
